Historic Mueller Park

Image
Mueller Park The "Frontier Building" in Decatur's Mueller Park was built in 1938 and features very distinctive architecture, including a circular staircase.  It was used by the Decatur Club of Frontiers International, Inc. as a community center into the 1980's.  Sadly, it fell into disrepair, but renovation/remodeling work has recently been performed by the Decatur Area Technical Academy. Mueller Park Trivia.... Approximately 800 Potawatomi Indians from Indiana were marched thru the Decatur area on September 26, 1838.  There is a marker recognizing the Potawatomi Trail of Death located in Mueller Park.
