"Picture Decatur" (Decatur IL)

Based on this collection of QSL "trading cards", there was a significant number of Decatur folks who took their CB (Citizen's Band) Radio hobby very seriously. (For those who might need a little primer on what these photos represent....... a  QSL card is a written confirmation of either a two-way radiocommunication between two amateur radio stations or a one-way reception of a signal from an AM radio, FM radio, television or shortwave broadcasting station. It can also confirm the reception of a two-way radiocommunication by a third party listener.)

Here's collection #12 of various Decatur-related "old stuff" that may generate a recollection of memories for some.......   (special thanks to eBay seller ROCKABI101 for providing this Walter Ahlheim image) TAGS: Burks, Chaps, Decatur Pump, Herman Post, Hi-Flier, Hickey Brothers, Hotel Orlando, Lincoln Theater, memory lane, roller skate, Wabash Railroad, Walter Ahlheim, Wilsonian, Wittig, WJBL, Woodrow Wilson Junior High,
