Nestled on the western shore of Lake Decatur southeast of Richland Community College, Faries Park has a rich history and holds many memories for folks of the Decatur area.
Much of the Park (298 acres) is now owned by Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), acquired as part of a voter-approved $7,000,000+ sale from the Decatur Park District back in 2004.
Here is a collection of photos of Faries Park, which is slowly fading into Decatur's history, as it is being slowly absorbed into ADM's industrial complex.
