Nick Beery Mural

Image
The 3rd beautiful new mural painted in Decatur during 2017 is located in the 200 block of West Main Street (across from the Salvation Army). Painted by Sullivan Illinois resident Nick Beery, the mural was inspired by the work of Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician.  The design is made up of a series of light, medium and dark shapes, based on a mathematical expression / pattern known as the "golden spiral". Bob Marley Mural

Image
Last week, another beautiful mural was completed in Decatur, this one on the east-facing wall of GB's Books and Records at 702 East Eldorado. The stunning "1 LOVE" tribute to Bob Marley was designed by Shani Goss and painted by Shani and her husband Tronnie with assistance from Jerry Johnson. Thanks to Gary and Bob Laskowski for allowing this project to move forward. What a colorful addition to Decatur's streetscape! One Love! One Heart! Let's get together and feel all right. Hear the children cryin' (One Love!); Hear the children cryin' (One Heart!), Sayin': give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right; Sayin': let's get together and feel all right. Wo wo-wo wo-wo!
